Petroglyphs
Petroglyphs and pictographs exist all across the planet. The humans, animals, and symbols portrayed in them are remarkably similar on every continent. Humans 5,ooo years ago used the same symbol for water and lightning and travel paths that we use today. We can not be sure of what many of the symbols mean but we know they were used to tell stories and record events. I love the way glyphs connect me to my ancient ancestors while presenting me with unsolved mysteries. With only a few exceptions, my paintings are from sites I have visited in North America.
